Duties as textile valuers and textile sorters:

As a textile evaluator, you work to find the best possible use for textile materials according to the waste staircase model. All work at Wargön Innovation is done with a focus on innovation and development, with many different partners in several different projects. Therefore, working methods, equipment, instructions, etc. change regularly and your participation in the development work is important. In a delivery with collected textiles, we want to:

  • primarily take advantage of what can be reused through second-hand sales
  • secondly, repaired or redesigned
  • thirdly, create new materials from the textile raw material
  • fourthly, recycled into new textiles or other materials
  • in the fifth place, be energy recovered

In a typical working week, you will work on both textile handling and textile valuation. Textile handling consists of receiving textile material, weighing and preparing it for valuation by separating shoes, garbage and other items from the material to be valued. During the textile valuation, you assess each garment based on several factors, such as: condition, function, brand, current fashion level and demand from second-hand customers. The textiles are sorted into different categories, packed and distributed to customers. You also contribute to the development and production of prototypes for various innovators, contribute to joint work tasks, etc.
