Next Period aims to raise awareness of structural inequalities related to menstruation, normalize interventions among policy makers and employers, and develop climate-neutral, cost-effective and safe menstrual protection for all

300 million people menstruate every day, and the cultural, economic and structural inequalities surrounding menstruation affect a huge number of them today. The challenge is greatest in low-income countries, but the problems are global and require major normative changes.

Objectives of the project:

Next Period aims to raise awareness of structural inequalities related to menstruation, normalize interventions among policy makers and employers, and develop climate-neutral, cost-effective and safe menstrual protection for all

The Next Period development project aims to develop a sanitary napkin that is sustainable throughout the process. Different materials will be investigated to find the one that best meets the required characteristics. By developing this type of menstrual protection, the project creates good conditions for women in low-income countries to go to work and school and avoid sick leave, infections and lost income.
