Innovative lab environment paves the way for sustainable innovations
Innovative lab environments play a decisive role in driving forward innovative solutions and products that can shape the future. For a startup company like Mounid, which is developing ground-breaking textile dyes from microalgae, access to such environments is particularly important.
Wargön Innovation is an accelerator for new ideas that helps innovators develop and commercialize their business ideas. Here there is an innovation environment that offers technical equipment and a place to test and develop products and processes. Among other things, a lab that offers a unique environment where creativity and innovation can thrive. The purpose of the lab environment is for entrepreneurs to be given the opportunity to test, validate and receive support in the development of their product and production process.
- The lab has been developed based on the needs we see the entrepreneurs have. It is important to us that it is a place where they can be creative and test themselves to find ways forward. The equipment in the lab has been successively developed as new needs have arisen, and today we offer, among other things, opportunities for dyeing, colorfastness and abrasion tests, fume hoods for handling dangerous chemicals, etc., says Julia Ronkainen, project manager at Wargön Innovation.
During the autumn, the startup company Mounid carried out dyeing tests with its algae ink for upcoming production for a corporate collaboration.
- Through access to the lab at Wargön Innovation, we can quickly test and validate ideas with potential customers, which makes it easier to go from concept to market. It is also very valuable to be in a lab environment with the right equipment, skills and like-minded actors for circular textiles, says Ida Näslund, founder of Mounid.
The lab at Wargön Innovation offers a variety of equipment and tools that are specially adapted for textile-related experiments and tests. Among the available resources are light cabinet, fume hood, crock meter, washing machine for dyeing, pH meter, hot plate, etc.
