Innovative lab environment paves the way for sustainable innovations
Innovative lab environments play a crucial role in driving forward innovative solutions and products that can shape the future. For a start-up like Mounid, which develops cutting-edge textile dyes from microalgae, access to such environments is particularly important.
Wargön Innovation is a new idea accelerator that helps innovators develop and commercialize their business ideas. It provides an innovation environment that offers technical equipment and a place to test and develop products and processes. This includes a lab that offers a unique environment where creativity and innovation can flourish. The purpose of the lab environment is to provide entrepreneurs with the opportunity to test, validate and receive support in the development of their product and production process.
- The lab has been developed based on the needs we see entrepreneurs have. It is important to us that it is a place where they can be creative and test themselves to find ways forward. The equipment in the lab has been gradually developed as new needs have arisen and today we offer, among other things, opportunities for coloring, testing of color hardness and abrasion, fume cupboards for handling hazardous chemicals, etc." says Julia Ronkainen, project manager at Wargön Innovation.
During the fall, the start-up company Mounid has conducted dyeing tests with its algae ink for future production for a corporate collaboration.
- "With access to the lab at Wargön Innovation, we can quickly test and validate ideas with potential customers, which makes it easier to go from concept to market. It is also very valuable to be in a lab environment with the right equipment, expertise and like-minded actors for circular textiles," says Ida Näslund, founder of Mounid.
The lab at Wargön Innovation offers a variety of equipment and tools specifically adapted for textile-related experiments and tests. Among the resources available are light cabinet, fume cupboard, crockmeter, washing machine for dyeing, pH meter, hot plate, etc.
