Streamlining remake - the punching machine as a game-changer

A significant barrier in remake production using discarded textiles as raw material is the time-consuming production process. Transforming recycled material into new products can be inefficient and labor-intensive. One potential solution to this challenge is the use of a punching machine to cut out pattern pieces. A method that can significantly streamline the production process by semi-automating a time-consuming step. In the innovation environment at Wargön Innovation, there is access to a punching machine that enables a more time-efficient production in remake. One of the entrepreneurs who has seen the benefits of using the punching machine to streamline their process is the company Center of Circulation.

Center of Circulation is a social enterprise founded by Matilda Maroti, which focuses on reducing the use of disposable products by creating reusable products from discarded textiles, mainly for municipal activities such as healthcare and childcare. Access to the die-cutting machine at Wargön Innovation has significantly improved the efficiency and accuracy of cutting out pattern parts, thereby reducing manual labor.

- For us, the punch at Wargön Innovation has been crucial to be able to take in and work with coarser materials such as terry cloth. It is extremely time-consuming and tiring to cut or cut pattern parts in existing garments due to seams etc. With the help of the punch, we can now get several hundred pattern parts in just a few minutes, says Matilda Maroti, founder of Center of Circulation.

Using a punching machine can increase efficiency, increase precision, reduce the need for manual labor and thus improve quality, work environment and profitability.

The innovation environment at Wargön Innovation offers a range of different machines that can help entrepreneurs develop and streamline their production processes.
