Strategic Partnership for Circular Innovation

Wargön Innovation and the Norwegian textile cluster Norwegian Fashion & Textile Agenda (NF&TA) have signed a letter of intent that marks the start of an important cross-border collaboration. The agreement aims to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable and innovative textile sector in both Sweden and Norway, and create a larger circular market in Scandinavia.

The collaboration will focus on developing joint strategies for circular business models, exchanging knowledge and best practices in textile recycling and sustainable production, creating a larger market for recycled and sustainable textiles, and thereby strengthening the Scandinavian positioning in circular textile innovation.

- "This collaboration is an important step in our efforts to drive the circular transition in the textile industry. By joining forces with NF&TA, we can create a stronger voice for change and innovation across Scandinavia," says Markus Danell, Executive Director of Wargön Innovation.

Increasing competitiveness and circular solutions

Through the collaboration, the parties see great potential for accelerated development of circular solutions, automation and technologies, as well as increased competitiveness for Scandinavian textile companies in the global market. The partnership will significantly increase the capacity to support companies across national borders. This will create synergies that directly benefit the companies, by offering increased resources, expertise and networks.

NF&TA, which mobilizes business, innovation partners, education and research in Norway, sees great benefits in the collaboration.

- We see enormous opportunities in this collaboration! Wargön Innovation has a unique innovation environment that is an important asset in the transition. Together we can create a powerful platform for circular innovation that benefits both industry and the environment," comments Linda Refvik, CEO of NF&TA.

The MoU is the starting point for a long-term collaboration that is expected to lead to concrete projects and initiatives in the coming years. Both parties look forward to working together to drive the transition to a more sustainable and circular textile industry in Scandinavia and globally.
