TWOOD [textile-wood]

Old jeans become new material.

TWOOD is a new and innovative material based on textile waste with an initial focus on denim waste (jeans). The material is aesthetically pleasing, environmentally sustainable and produced with a technology that provides a completely unique and hard material with similar properties to wood. The advantage is not only that waste material becomes a resource, but also that the textile is transformed and given completely new properties and new uses that can replace virgin wood material, fossil-based plastics, etc.

The method used to produce the material is patent-pending and unique in the world.

Support from Wargön Innovation

At Wargön Innovation, TWOOD has access to a workspace and our machinery where small-scale production takes place. Through our project managers, TWOOD also receives support in developing its business model. From our sorting and valuation of second hand, jeans are sorted out from the residual streams that are not in good enough condition for the Swedish second hand market. These jeans are then used in the manufacture of TWOOD's products and in this way the products are returned to a circular cycle and given new life as a new product.
